Amber G. Johnson

Founder & Lead Instructor | The Range Doula

Amber G. Johnson didn’t just build a firearms training company, she built a movement. A proud Spelman College graduate with a degree in Comparative Women’s Studies, Amber holds advanced degrees from Georgia Tech in the History and Sociology of Technology and Science, and in Digital Media. 

She is a licensed FFL owner, USCCA Certified Instructor, digital media strategist, and brand innovator with 7+ years in the firearms industry and over a decade behind the trigger. Her academic foundation, retail experience, and deep commitment to women’s empowerment converge in everything Gayle’s Futuristic Fire offers, from the curriculum design to the concealed carry styling guidance that has become her signature edge.

Amber created the Range Doula initiative to offer more than just training. Her programs deliver mentorship, mindset coaching, and practical tools that make carrying a firearm feel natural, safe, and affirming, especially for women who have been overlooked or made to feel unwelcome in traditional firearms spaces.

Beyond the range, Amber is a sought-after speaker, educator, and advocate for women’s empowerment, personal safety, and entrepreneurship. Her work is building a legacy, one where women are not only equipped, but unapologetically confident in their journey toward self-defense.

Private sessions are limited. Group sizes are capped. Every round has purpose.

OUR STORY

Gayle’s Futuristic Fire was founded in Atlanta in 2022 with a bold vision, to fuse empowerment, education, and elegance into the world of firearm safety. We believe self-defense should never come at the cost of self-expression. That confidence and carry go together. That training should feel intentional, personalized, and affirming not intimidating. Since 2022 we’ve built a growing, diverse community of responsible gun owners through programs that blend structured firearms education, lifestyle coaching, and personalized concealed carry styling. This is not casual range time. Every session has purpose. Every client leaves more capable than they arrived.

OUR MISSION

To help individuals, especially women, Black women, and queer and non-binary people reclaim autonomy through disciplined instruction, measurable skill development, and the confidence to carry with both safety and style.
